Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks come after nights of air raids in the territory, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were preparing for further attacks.
